"Anniversary of Jesus' Death" Invitation wording

noticed the wording change this year.

no more memorial or lord's evening meal mentioned.. only an invitation to "the anniversary of jesus' death".

so, my question - who has caught this phrase and what does it mean?.

yeah, but what about the scripture that says .....'keep doing it, until he has arrived'.......... Did he not arrive in Kingdom Power in the heavens in 1914??? So, he's not taken power over the Earth, so what? Maybe he's a lame-duck savior??...Maybe he has other planets in the universe to tend to?? Who knows, but according to the WTB&TS ....he's in power since 1914 in heaven!! So then, why the Memorial at all??

Short comment regarding Jehovah's Witnesses and baptism. Jesus gave incredibly clear instructions on baptism that are ignored by the organization. Mt 28:19 says (in part, from the NWT):".....baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the holy spirit." I have been to hundreds of assemblies and heard the baptism talks at each one. I do not once remember hearing this phrase invoked at any of them, including my own. This being so, begs the question: Is any baptism that does not meet the Bibles standards as instructed by Jesus himself, valid before God, Jesus, and the holy spirit? My personal opinion is: NO!! All Jehovah's Witnesses are dedicated and baptized into is an organization (recall the 2 questions asked at the end of the baptismal talk; neither mentions Jehovah, Jesus or the holy spirit) which is headed by imperfect men who change the rules in the midst of the game, and tilt the playing field in their favor to whatever angle that may entail. Why is the "Shepherd the Flock of God" book only viewed by Elders?

if the shephard book contains rules taken from the nwt, then why is one held confidential and the other not viewed as such?

if the sheep are not allowed to view the elders manual then they should not be allowed to view/read the nwt.. "the following page shows an excerpt from one of the official letter that was sent to the elders regarding the importance of keeping this book confidential:.

(note: the "kingdom ministry school" referred to in the letter is a training program for elders and ministerial servants; the 1991 kingdom ministry textbook referred to is the previous version that the"shepherd the flock of god" book replaces)".

Pickler: You are correct on each and every point. That is exactly why the WTB&TS bears such a heavy burden of guilt. Your mindset is spot-on. The questions you ask are the ones we all ask, but get no satisfying answers to. Keep asking. Don't take anything at face value, and do your best to inform everyone you know....dubs or not.....about this. Non-Jehovah's Witnesses need to know about all of this also. Ask yourself: Do potential pedophiles have the right to go door-to-door putting the public's children at risk? Do you think a JW pedophile will only attack and abuse Witness children?

As the old spiritual folksong says: "go tell it on the Mountian". The whole world needs tobe aware of this.

former jw timothy kline wrote an excellent article in 2002 that examines from a scriptural perspective the watchtower society's "two witnesses" requirement applicable to child abuse allegations (called "part 1" but there appears to be no further parts).

the article shows there are certainly alternative interpretations available to the watchtower society that would allow them to easily adjust this flawed aspect of their policy while still adhering to scriptural principles.

Sickening Dilemma

i would like to have your opinions on what i should do about a situation please.. i have recently discovered that a 'brother' in the congregation (which i no longer attend) is a child molester.

i've seen documentation from his psychiatrist dated a few years ago, stating that he doesn't feel that this person is likely to offend again.

the 'brother' has said to the elders at some point that he has it under control but cannot be 100% sure it won't happen again.

Go to the police and request an anonymous meeting with a child protection agency officer as well as a police detective.....provide them with all the names and written notes you have. Any and all documentation will help get them moving. Go in person after having made an appointment with a detective/CPA worker. DO NOT DELAY.
